Our Cardiff based client who are a dynamic, forward thinking firm and one of the fastest growing practices in the UK are looking to take on a junior office assistant who is looking to train to become a paralegal!

The firm has a friendly, progressive and mutually supportive working environment along with a smart casual dress policy and stylish modern offices.

Key Points:

Salary: £17,500 -18,000

Training: 1-2 years

Location: Cardiff

Working Hours: Business hours Monday to Friday

Interview/start: ASAP

Junior Office Assistant Duties:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries
  • Collecting post and small deliveries from Reception
  • Taking post to the Post Office
  • Setting up meeting rooms in advance of clients arriving
  • Serving refreshments to clients
  • Supervising recycling collections
  • Keeping communal areas such as the kitchen clean and tidy
  • Updating company documents when required
  • Replacing toners in printers when required
  • Scanning documents when required
  • Sending courier items to DHL via the Post Office when required

Trainee Paralegal Duties include but are not limited to:

This will be a shadowing programme allowing the Trainee Paralegal to learn the full range of paralegal activities from more senior members of the team.

  • Accessing Patent Office websites to obtain official documents
  • Maintaining internal electronic case files
  • Formatting word/excel/powerpoint documents for the Patent Office filings and client reports.
  • Creating cold reporting / standard letters and emails
  • Preparing UKIPO forms
  • Uploading documents to the internal Document Management System
  • Invoicing
  • Client specific procedures and systems
  • Preparing travel requests
  • Booking meetings

Your requirements:

  • GCSE's or A-Levels
  • Passion for becoming a Paralegal or law
  • Willing to help the team with Office Assistant duties while training
